The first consonant of the diploid consonant changes tone of the syllable.

[yauk] to jest
[wahn] sweet

  1. is placed before a lowtone consonant and changes tone of syllable.
    When a syllable is normal tone, it changes to rising tone.

  2. is not pronounced.
